No, I am not going to the SB but I live 1.7 miles from the 50 yard line at MetLife Stadium, and thought I would share the weather before the bets are finished.
Currently 34 degrees, slightly overcast and winds at 7 MPH.
great waether for the game which should have kickoff temps around 35 to 40.
Teterboro Airport is receiving some 600 flights for the event but they are landing on the other runway with departures over my condo, but no arrivals. if winds continue as they are the departure sky over my head will be busy tonight.
Everybody enjoy the game.
For some strange internal reason I think it will be the Seahawks.
Sorry Peyton!
Chuck in Rutherford.

PS
The security around the stadium is intense. Looks like every NJSP and county officer is on duty as I just took a ride to see the highways, which were quiet, but patrolled.

Article from a local newspaper regarding taxes and security costs.

You have fog in your area?

Very foggy around the SW CT coastline.

Super Bowl Report Hey Homey!

I grew up about 3 1/2 miles from the stadium.
I always grin to myself that the stadium was built on top of my childhood garbage from when it was a landfill originally.
Somewhere under the turf are is a nice collection of late 50s early 60s Topps baseball cards that contained a lot of Yankees' cards in an old cigar box that my Mom tossed when I left home.

As for the $$, you have to think of the local business impact. This is why New Orleans is such a great Super Bowl host. They have done numerous times and have it all figure out. NYC/Jersey needed to host a Super Bowl. I am sure that NYC is reaping most of the $$ rewards but there is so much $$ associated with the game hat it is being spread out somehow. Your Teterboro comment reflects that al those corporate and 1% Jets coming and going. some are probably loaded with the world's top $$ hookers also.
I like to see the Bronco's win. No particular reason but I am hoping that Knowshon Moreno has a great game. He has been in the shadows of the lead-up hype. As a local who grew up in the NJ area, I think that he could be the wild card in the game. All this talk about Manning's passing may give him day light in the running game.

It is in the 60°'s here with some rain showers. Yesterday was a nice sunny day in the 70°s putting al the freezing weather behind us for the year. Maybe Spring is here!
I had 2 soccer games yesterday. Today, if field conditions permit I have 2 more. One at our home field.d to watch and the other to scout at another location. My brother is reporting that he has the recipe for the Texas wiener sauce from the Hot Grill in Clifton,. I may try it today. Trying to have Jersey food for thee game. ; )

Super Bowl Report Hey Homey!

Hey Back At You Homey!
The local news reporting, which did not hit thye national media, was mostly about NFL and its entities making contact with local businesses and asking for certain package deal for people from the bus drivers, to securrity personnel.
No contracts and the NFL reneged on each deal. The locals were too trusting and got screwed. One hall owner saidhe could not employ his 60-70 people for the day due to the late cancellation.
But it is over and currently it is snowing with about 2-3 inches where I am with heavier snow due later today and tonight. Lots of canceled flights from all the airports.

Robert, I too have many a tresure including NY Yankees cards from my youth in those "landfills".
Have you been following the NJ fiascoe?
Best Wishes
Chuck

Super Bowl Report Hey Homey!

I remember as a very young kid going to the Secaucus drive- In in the family Packard.
Remember a Lewis- Martin movie. I was a very young snot dripping tot.

I don't keep up with political fiascoes and if I did there are plenty here in Louisiana to amuse.
Like this one about our coroner (very powerful position in La.) in our Parish. It started with a whistle blower who was fired by him because she would not administer some grant monies inappropriately. She fled suit against him and then all the local media 'investigative' reporters flocked in and picked him apart.
Plus, his wife would post pictures on her FB account of all the trips and the goodies etc they were enjoying in life on tax payer $'s.

I did see the Fallon/Springsteen duet thing about the bridge and it was very well done. A classic satire.
