Of course you might want to look at ALL your options too, there are a couple other OS's besides Android and iOS; Windows Phone and the NEW Blackberry 10 phones. I have an IT tech friend that has looked at the new Blackberry OS and really likes what he sees, some real innovation AND data security there too. The only "Smart Phone" I have had has been a Blackberry, coming up on the 4th anniversary with that phone this fall, dated for sure, browser sucks for sure, BUT it has served me well, time for me to leap ahead too so looking at ALL my options. Quite honestly all the reviews I have read on the new BB and even the Windows phones have been pretty positive, biggest gripe is they don't have as many apps, but how many thousands of apps do you really need? Those will come with time on the newer OS's if you can get by with basic apps for now.

If you get an Android phone then get Advanced App Killer. It kills apps that suck the battery dry. I also use it when charging. It charges a lot faster.
Mine is Motorola razor, it's ok (employer issued) but I think the samsungs are better.
At this time, I have an IPhone. When it is time to get a new phone, I will look at the Samsung and a few others. I like my iPhone but want to consider other. The oneebthingnindo not like is the fact that it is locked down on Bluetooth and such. We have a Leica 1200 total station. I think it would be interesting to be able to control it with my phone and Bluetooth.
Back when I had a Motorola razor flip phone we used to share ring tones. One day, I sent YMCA to our party chief's cell phone, then set it as his default ring tone about 5 minutes later, when I called his cell phone, he came strutting out of his cubicle with his hard hat and safety vest, dancing along to the music.
