Tomorrow's game between Northwestern and Illinios will take place on Chicago's Wrigley field. Because of the tightness of the layout, one sideline was not very wide, so it was planned that both teams would use the same sideline. After looking at the field this week both teams decided the East Endzone was not too safe either. So they conferenced with the Big Ten and several rules were modified, so that all offensive plays would head toward the West end zone. However if you intercept a pass or snatch a fumble and decide to take it in, be aware of that cold hard stop at the end. These are the kind of home field rules that wrre prevalent in the very early years of college football.
The Northwestern players wanted to take the El to the game,
Big Ten = "Anything for a buck".

There's a bit more space than there is at Wrigley, so the game will be played under regulation conditions.
Notre Dame has already lost to Navy (35 - 17) in the NY/NJ metro area, when they played at the New Meadowlands Stadium (home of the Giants and the Jets) last month.
Angelo, Will Army Wear Their Camo Helmets ?
With Notre Dame wearing kelly green uniforms Army should wear those great looking camoflague helmets I've seen.
This is Game 1 for the new Yankee Stadium, any idea on the final count for games at old Yankee Stadium? Fordham and Army should top the list.

There were hundreds of games, including Army, ND, Grambling, Morgan State, Oregon State, Syracuse and many others. The Gotham Bowl, between Miami and Nebraska, was played in 1961.
NYU played 96 games there, Army 34, ND 24, Fordham 19
In addition, pro football was played intermittently between 1936 and 1951, and then the NY Giants played all their home games there from 1956 until 1973.
(Thanks to Wiki for all the numbers...)

Ah, got the weekend off, as this is my Tigers off week in preparation for the Game next weekend.
Hope Alabama got it all out of their system last night with Georgia State, what a whoppin'.
P.L. Parsons ?
Georgia State is a new Football Championship Subdivsion college. This is their first year of fielding an FCS football team, so there definitely was no competition. Georgia State's lone touchdown came on a 97 yard kickoff return. I'ld say Alabama pretty much gave them a nice financial shot in the arm.
Imagine that, your first year of football and at Alabama. I have no doubt those players enjoyed it.

I hope Notre Damn gets the shiit.... er... uh... GREEN kicked out of them tomorrow, and I hope that football tears the H3LL out of the Yankee Stadium field grass so that they have to replace every square inch.

nice appreciation for what the Yankee Org did after the shootings at VT.
Ain't you special?
All these ND and Yankee dispersers are so predictable. It almost like some strange way of being PC in a weird way to jump on them.
It is like a club sort off...
I only went to one football game at Yankee stadium as a kid. Saw the Browns with Jim Brown play the Giants.
Cold Cold cold, Maybe that is why my friend's father got the ducats. Browns won.
I do remember the annual Grambling game with other Black colleges.
Yankee stadium is a doable stride from Harlem.
I saw an Army-Navy game at the old JFK stadium in Philly when I was young and dumb in HS.
A friend got 2 tickets and I think it was because of the weather. It was 8°. We sat in the end zone and froze. Navy won and we did the rush to tear down the goal posts that were wooden. A pile of people and I am surprised no one was killed.
But like I said, I was young and dumb.
Bill Parcells was the LB coach of Army at that time.
