This evening was dinner at a nephew's house, I think the count was 23. Mild and hot sausage with ziti, barbecued chicken and chicken Marsalla. John Adam's Winter lager and Boston lager and 3 more varieties I did not have time for. My granddaughter kept bringing me once bitten cookies until I was ready to burst. Then I had to mellow out with 2 glasses from a newly opened Courvosier.

Just relaxing until it is time to head to 11PM service. Tomorrow is breakfast for 10 at our house, to my mother's for a hopefully light lunch and we end the day with dinner for 24 (at least 1 more nephew and maybe his girlfiend) at my sister in law's.

Two Meals Down, One To Go

Merry Christmas to all.

We actually had 11 for breakfast. My niece's son stayed over at my daughter's last night. After opening all the new presents 2 grandaughters decided it would be more fun to empty out the old toy box. We have been seeing this for years but our daughter in law (a school teacher) just could not understand it.

Stuffed and satisfied, we are regaining strength for the last go round. That is until we start again with leftovers tomorrow.

We hung out and filled 2 new bird feeders. With the storm that was to be coming we figured the birds would hit us hard and heavy, but that was not the case. I just brought up the animated radar map and it appears the snow was everywhere but in our county. I guess the birds knew better than we did?

And To All A Good Night!

Very good day, after a nap we headed up to my mother's who had had neighbors and a few nephew's and families stop by. My sister, her husband and son were staying the weekend. Pleasant surprise when we got there, 4 of my deceased brother's 6 children stopped by in a group. A niece was up from Washington, DC with her husband, s nephew in from New York with girlfriend, a local nephew with girlfriend and my brother's youngest with her son and a boyfriend. Probably the greatest joy my 95 year mother have is seeing her great grandchildren. We hung 2 more birdhouses in her backyard. We had tea while my mother, sister had turkey and then we headed to my sister in law's.

Expected crowd was diminished as our granddaughter came up with a fever and my daughter called it a day early. Small group consisting of us, sister in law and husband, sister in law's son, wife, his son and daughter, two son's from my sister in law's daughter, one girlfiend for the older and a family friend. Family friend informs all that we are invited to her 50th birthday party at Carrabba's, then throws the gauntlet down to my wife's oldest nephew and his wife as they too hit the big 5-0 in 2011.

Looks like 6-10" of snow tomorrow which is great. A fresh tracking snow for the first day of muzzleloader season on Monday. I love muzzleloading better than any other hunting just because of the possibilities of just such weather. Dress properly and a day in the snow is the most peaceful time of the year.

Have a little clean up of some surveys to finish up this week but work is not first agenda item on any day next week.
