Does anyone know where I can get an old version of Maptech software ?
Our old version finally failed probably due to those daily online automatic updates.
Local Computer guru cannot seem to get our old version to funtion anymore.
Our firm is updating to new Surveying (cogo) software, but in the process I would like to have the old Maptech version working.
I have a set on 3.5 disks, but I'm not sure if they would run on today's equipment, even if you could load them up. (It may even be a DOS version!!:-O )
If you are coming off Maptech, you need to take a hard look at Carlson Survey with embedded AutoCad. You will see much you recognise there and the learning curve is not terrible at all.
You might give these guys a call. They are the old Mapteck crew>
I always try to keep an older functioning machine around for such programs. We have a ton of old bischoff files and his Cogo will not work past XP.
I pilfer the recycling bin at the dump for old computers... Not proud of this, but I have built some machines that would have been quite expensive back in the day.
I am SO glad that they finally changed their name.
Our company had a running whizzing contest with them for years. People would order the software and mail us the payments. We got tired of forwarding then their checks, etc. Finally they went away.
Now if the company that has also utilized our name that does the navagational charts, etc. would get wise, we would be SO glad.
Yes, I work for the ORIGINAL Maptech, Inc. The survey company. The one that the people woithout a creative cell in their brain like to name their company after and don't even know it. Established in 1977.
