Apparently, with these unexpected accidents, your injury chances are a lot less with your body loose than when you see it coming and your body has time to tense up. I can remember speeding home on my bicycle one dark winter night, with a hot chicken curry hanging from the handlebars, and tackling a sharp bend in the footpath at full tit and hitting some unseen ice. It was like someone had literally removed from underneath me and I hit the deck and flew into the ditch, and oh how I laughed.

I love it when some reporter uses the term, "unexpected accident" as if most accidents are pre-planned to occur at a specific time and day.
