My daughter surprised me today with a new wallet. Crafted from scratch with her two own hands!
I will be taking very good care of it so as to be able to show off her work every time I pay for something.
She currently does custom tooling for a saddle repair shop (personalized belts, purses, wallets, and chaps). She is leaving for college this year and will be doing this sort of thing to pay her bills.
I'd like to get her a website set up and enough pre-orders to keep her busy.
This kind of stuff isn't cheap, but when you hold it in your hands, you know someone spent hours making it.
Pretty good I think! Proud of her.

Nice work!
Haven't you posted some of her work in the past.
I wonder if she sells at Art/Craft shows.
She could do about 4 a year and make a lot of $$$$$$$.
Especially a few before Christmas in Nov and Dec when people are gift shopping.
There are few shows here a year and I know a few people that make some serious coin.
One is a sign maker and another is a blacksmith who makes ornamental stuff.
I see she filled it with money too! 🙂
That's excellent.
There's tooling and then there's tooling.
This ranks right up there in my view.
Something deeply satisfying when the kids make something useful and give it to Dad.
Your daughter obviously has talent with flair IMO.
The stitching ain't bad neither.

When you do let us know. I will definitely purchase one. Very nice work. 🙂
On her behalf, thanks for the compliments.
I'd buy one, that's a damn fine looking wallet. I love handmade leather stuff like that, you can tell someone put time into it just from a brief glance.
Yes, I think most people can appreciate something that is hand made. Her mom bought her an old leather stitching machine that is powered by your feet. I need to convert it over to electric for her.
