Seward is the county seat and main city in the county where I live about 10 miles away. Imagine starting as a point guard as a freshman in high school and then starting every game the next four years and never experiencing a single loss. Beth Bohuslavsky helped Seward win another state championship yesterday extending the win streak to 101 games.

One of those great last names that the poor kid has to spell everywhere except in her home community for her entire life. Many similar names around Seward and Butler Counties. My grandmother was born in Brainard a few miles north of Seward in Butler County. That family name, Schofield, stands out in a neighborhood full of names like Hruska and other names with consonants in strange places.

That is a tremendous accomplishment for any high school team to go undefeated through so many games.

My oldest daughter played junior high volleyball and basketball in the 6th, 7th and 8th Grades. Her team lost no games in both sports in those three years. But, even that can't compare to the high school competition where it continues to the State level such that your team must be both state champion and undefeated throughout the entire season.

Experiencing success in High School

"Winning takes talent; to repeat takes character." - John Wooden

This is a remarkable accomplishment. I am sure that the coach has followed John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success philosophy. Also, the team probably works very, very hard to keep the steak alive and the coach has employed a system that their opponents cannot grasp. If you can get the kid's to "buy into" the system along with bringing young players along at the same time, you create success. I watch a lot of HS soccer here. The successful programs. One little Christian school plays young players in their varsity. They enjoy the experience of success and the associated challenge.
I liked it that the Seward girls sing the Sponge Bob song before every game together.

Google Professor Blood’s Passaic High School Wonder team of the 1920’s...They put together an incredible winning streak that influenced the history of basketball comparable to Wooden’s UCLA teams.

FWIW, Wooden's Pyramid of Success is applicable to any personal or group endeavor.
