Oops Soccer not football.

Akron has been at the top all year.
Some traditional power teams like Va and Maryland are rising.
SMU is back after having a let down the last few years. For all the talent thatt here is in TX and SMU being the only team tp lay for in TX, I would think they would be unbeatable to degree. They had a legendary coach for years but he left to coach the Dallas FC of th MLS and he has them going pretty good. OK has a lot of talent also and , there is Tulsa. in the rankings. Big 10 is pretty serious about men's soccer and it shows.
Md beat Conn. last night so they will mnake a jump.
A local kid Patrick Mullins has recently been added to their line-up and is doing very good.
He left Louisiana before his Sr. year at Jesuit HS in New Orleans and enrolled at MD.
He spent last year touring with US national Dev. team and a MLS (Chicago Fire) development teem and played well.
He received every honor that one can receive in the state in his JR HS year. He left and Jesuit still went on to dominate boy's HS soccer last season. Great program.

For Paul in PA, MD plays at Lehigh next week. You may want to go and root for your alma mater for this important match.

[MARYLAND-CONNECTICUT] No. 6 Maryland shut down Connecticut, which went into the game tied for the nation's best offense, and handed the No. 2 Huskies their first loss of the season, 1-0, Tuesday night at Ludwig Field.

Freshman Patrick Mullins, the Terrapins' newest scoring star from Louisiana, scored the game's only goal, his third of the year, on a header in the 35th minute.

U.S. U-20 goalkeeper Zac MacMath shut out UConn, which entered Tuesday’s match tied with UAB for the nation's top offense (2.89 goals per game).

My own soccer life is rolling along. About the middle of the season with my U8s and they are improving . That is all I can ask for as a coach. They are winning also but I do not keep track but they let me know. We practice 2/week
Our club will be hosting the Kohl's Cup ( a regional rec. tourney) at our fields in Nov at the end of the Fall season.
I am looking forward to both the planning, organizing and playing.
Kids really get into the competition and they end up bonding more as a team and as friends.
