Sounds like there is not much agreement between the parties after the two week extension on LS2 debt.

Rueters and WSJ both reporting that negotiations have not progressed

From @TMFAssociates tweets (who have been spot on throughout this whole saga: "4 options for #LightSquared: spectrum swap, rebanding w/Ergen, litigation, liquidation. Prob will be attempted in that order."

Not saying people should jump up and down and celebrate if they do go bankrupt. No, it is shame hat so much was lost on a plan that may not have been thought out fully before hand.

Not sure what to think of the first option but what grounds for a swap? The FCC did not take anything away from them, they still have the same satellite spectrum they started with, and if they get free (more valauble) spectum in exchange then they get more than they paid for. Can I apply for free sperctrum too?

Litigation, presumably over the interference requirements. And if you have not read CFR 25.255 please do so. With only a partial solution for 10L and absolutely no solution for 10H it would be hard to make a case that they met the interference requirements (and the recent silence on the matter leads many to think they have all but given up on that).

Title 47: Telecommunication

CHAPTER I: FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION (CONTINUED)

SUBCHAPTER B: COMMON CARRIER SERVICES

PART 25: SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS

Subpart C: Technical Standards

25.255 - Procedures for resolving harmful interference related to operation of ancillary terrestrial components operating in the 1.5./1.6 GHz, 1.6/2.4 GHz and 2 GHz bands.

If harmful interference is caused to other services by ancillary MSS ATC operations, either from ATC base stations or mobile terminals, the MSS ATC operator must resolve any such interference. If the MSS ATC operator claims to have resolved the interference and other operators claim that interference has not been resolved, then the parties to the dispute may petition the Commission for a resolution of their claims.

There may be different players soon, but the saga is not over. Changes may be coming, but maybe not as fast some desire, and others fear.
