Swmbo lived in Hilo for 2 years and Honolulu for 4. (age 5-11 ?? 1956-1961) While in Hilo when Kilauea acted up they would all pile in the car and drive to the current lava flows to watch. Being 5 or 6 feet away from a slow lava flow wasn??t a big deal back then. (When the general public didn??t need ??don??t be stupid? signs everywhere) ?ÿThat and Waipio Valley were her favorite things to visit while on Hawaii. ?????ÿ

Every time Wendell and I tried to plan a trip there, something happened! My mom died...we re-scheduled. My dad died, we re-scheduled. Then in 2018, when we had almost ran out of time to use our credits from 2015, I booked the trip! And I said "Watch, that damn volcano will start acting up." Wendell said "Nah, it's been quiet. It won't." Next day on the news..."Kilauea is rumbling, folks." Uh huh...
We went to Kauai instead and saw YogiSwami. WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!! ?§?
