Dangerous

She could get mastitis, very similar to cold sores.

I'd have to agree.
We had very quiet dairy cows you could milk by hand (we had machine) but occasionally the back leg would meet you somewhere between the knee and the groin.

A better way is to stand back and aim the teat and just squeeze (milk the cow) directly into the open gob. Much more fun.
