I'll be in CA toward the end of the month. LA/Orang Co for a few days and then up to the central coast for a few more. Anything I shouldn't miss in the Cambria/Big Sur area?

Hearst Castle
not to be missed.

take any of the tours, they are all great.
I believe Hearst owned everything he could see but the Pacific Ocean and off shore islands.

I second the Hearst Castle. There are fine artifacts there from Egypt etc. that you simply cannot buy these days. That will take a good part of a morning. Be there early. They have several different tours. And take PCH all the way through Malibu. Don't skimp out and take the 101. Morro Bay is good too.

A great place to stop for a bite to eat in Big Sur is Nepenthe.

Cambria is really nice.

You want an exciting ride for free go out on the Cayucos pier on a high surf day. It moves a lot.

Morro Bay has a really good dining district down by the water.

We really enjoyed Hearst Castle. The bus ride from the parking area up to the mansion was a little sketchy. Those drivers know the road so well that they really fly.
