Bought this to replace my ailing DJ500. BIG mistake. Mechanically, it seems OK, but the driver is a major POS.
Plotting from ACAD 2006, 11 x 17 drawing, paper from sheet feeder. Plots OK on plain paper, but switching to mylar, only plots 1/2 the image, even though the print preview dialog showed everything as hunky-dory. WTF? Burned up 4 pieces of mylar, before loading a fifth sheet of film, but telling the printer it was printing on plain paper. It then printed OK, but quality was not nice and crisp, to put it nicely.
Plotting VAL map pdf from Adobe Reader XI. Created paper size to match pdf size, plotter spits out 60" of blank paper.
Spent 2.5 hrs on 'phone to Mumbai with Sangar the support dude. Let him run PC remotely. Installed, uninstalled and reinstalled 3 different drivers - either wouldn't plot at all, plotted part of image, or spit out more blank 60" pieces of my roll. Finally he says we must uninstall Reader XI, and install Reader X. It did finally print VAL maps, but sheeezus, really? Won't print from most recent version of Reader? Sangar collected the pdf so they could experiment in their "lab". Major eye-roll here.
Never did get around to ACAD issue.
FWIW, The good 'ol DJ500 never had any issues like this, and I haven't changed ANYTHING but the printer.
Anybody else experiencing similar?
REALLY wishing I'd bought an Epson.....
Really sounds like a memory issue.
16 Gb not enough? Was plenty for DJ500......Sangar the Support Dude checked all that out.
Could it possibly be a printer language issue? I went with the T-520 model because it was a little more robust. Mine has 1GB Ram, has the second language, HPGL-2 I believe.
I have only had one instance where it had problems plotting a set of construction plans, but it was a pretty large set of PDF plans. I have not tried plotting on mylar yet.
Good luck. Plotter problems are frustrating. I replaced mine last year when my old 650C was skipping random lines of text on surveys.
