Google Earth black screen

My Google Earth loads, but no globe appears, just a black window. Tried some of the google help fixes (clear cache/directx...), but no luck. It goes to Sky mode ok.
Win 7, 64bit.
Anybody had this before and have a fix?

My guess would be a video card driver issue. Can you switch between OpenGL and DirectX and see what happens? Also, do you have the latest driver for your card (ie, not the one that came preinstalled from Microsoft of Microsoft update, bur instead one you have downloaded directly from AMD, Nvidia or Intel)?
