I have been very busy. So, this is late. But, it's still good!

Good stuff Nate.
I really like Marty Stuart and the Superlatives also.
The nerdy guy on guitar is really a monster musician. I have seen him play a few times with Lucinda Williams.
Here he is playing with her on Drunkin Angel.
It is a song by her eulogizing a dead Texas songwriter and friend

It's the Fabulous Superlatives.
When someone from Mississippi has the wherewith all to engage in wordplay, I like to see them get their due credit. 😉

Well OK Jim,
Marty has been Nashville based for a very very long time now. Didn't he marry one of Johnny and June's daughters?
It is good that the fits into Faron Young's old threads 😉
I like him. He is a real blues expert and a very good writer.
I liked his articles in the Oxford American when I use to read that mag. years ago.
He is also an accomplished photographer and has had showings in New Orleans galleries.
I liked his XM radio show also when I listened to it.

That makes two of us.
He was married to Cindy Cash when he played in Johnny's band. I think he's married to Connie Stevens now.
Unrelated Johnny Cash daughter story:
When Rodney Crowell (another artist that makes "country" music for grown-ups) was dating Rosanne Cash they went to stay at Johnny's house in the Jamaica. Rodney tells the story that he looked at Johnny when they got their and asked "What room should I put our bags in?"
Johnny replied "Son, I don't know you well enough to miss you"

I listened to Charlie Pride for about 4 years before I ever saw a picture of him.
First ever Country Star to be black. Used to go to the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show on the night when he was performing. Always did what I could to get tickets for that night, until he got to the point he was retired and quit coming to Houston.
