On April 11, 2020 John Horton Conway passed away from the covid-19 virus. He was 82 years old.
He had many interesting books and papers of which I have several of each.

That's a name I recognize from Martin Gardner's columns in Scientific American, back when I was in high school, although I was never into his kinds of mathematics.
