My son that is. He is 13 and had only been running a mile or two the last few weeks to get ready. First time he has raced, but I think he is hooked. Time of 24:13 and as you can see this was Cross-county not on the road. Hilly coarse through the orchards. Most of it mowed, but no hard trail. 🙂 🙂

Half way

Fall color coming on.

Great job and be ready for the next question. Dad, will you run a 5K with me?

Outstanding, job well done.

See y'all are getting a touch of fall, one of the few things I envy the northern latitudes.

Down here it is still in the 90's with 90+ per cent humidity at mid day, still rains every day about 3:00, so is to be expected.

This will be typical until about November, when it will drop into the 40's with the same humidity. Goes from steaming to bone chilling in a few weeks, probably the reason I see so few runners around here. That, and bacon grease.....
