The radio announcers are declaring this the worse Penn State performance on both sides of the ball they have ever seen.
Illinois 33 PSU 13.
It appears that at theend Illinois decided not to rub salt into the wound.
Sad to say, Joe is going to go out ugly. Oh well, he and Bobby Bowden can sit around and reminisce on what should have been.

I don't think you give the fans of Penn State enough credit. I've been to heart breaking games by my Pokes but have never wanted my money back nor burned my Okie State hats. I have been glad to see some coaches leave though.
I hope that Coach Paterno goes out in style and dignity. He is a legend and an icon to many fans, players and former players. No one wants to see him fired or to be run off. But that is his choice should he decide to continue amidst the growing odds.
It Is Not That They Lost
I have been to many losing games, and knew that they were playing to win.
Yesterday their minds were not in it, players and coaches.
Evan Royster decided not to get in the NFL draft and came back to play for Penn State instead of earning a few million bucks. It will cost him about 5 rounds in next years draft at least. Quite a cost to be embarassed. Royster reported at 220 pounds and Paterno publicly embarassed him and said he was 20 pounds too heavy, so Royster lost the weight. He could sure use that extra 20 pounds now as it would be good for an extra yard of momentum every time he gets tackled because there is no line in front of him to give him holes.
Penn State goes to Minnesota 1-5 in two weeks and if the get their heads together has a good shot at a win. Then it is Michigan 5-1, Northwestern 5-1, @ Ohio State 6-0, @ Indiana 3-2 (even up match), Michigan State 6-0. That could leave PSU at 5-7, but the NCAA is considering 5-7 teams in bowls this year so Paterno might get the Bobby Bowden offer, maybe against Notre Dame 3-3 in the Siesta Bowl. "Joe, here's your last bowl and your hat."
