Probably bowed out of about twice this many potential jobs in the same time frame.?ÿ Referred many of them to one or more other survey firms either closer or more experienced for the specific job needed.?ÿ In one case I told the caller which firm to call because they had completed a survey in that same portion of the same section about four months ago and also mentioned the surveyor who would handle the job lives about one mile away from the site.?ÿ Turned down one job simply because the caller was complaining about everyone telling him to call a different surveyor (Ron X.) but he has known Ron X. for decades and hates his guts, so anyone else is the choice.?ÿ Ron X. happens to be a very good surveyor who is also reasonably priced and knows the specific location far better than I ever will.?ÿ I don't think he has found anyone yet.
?ÿ
That feels like a 6 month (+) backlog.
Many of those are fairly simple, straight forward jobs.?ÿ All are boundary-only except for one.
WOW! In 36+ years of private practice, I don't think that I've had that many clients in total (well maybe). This is one of the things that I really like about this forum, it gives me a window into surveying across the country, around the world, and maybe more importantly, into the vast differences between "business models" (for lack of a better term), that are more common in the profession than what I do.

Why not take the Ron X job, then hire Ron X to do it.
