Accessibility Statement
How RPLS.com approaches accessibility, where we know we fall short, and how to reach us if something on the site doesn't work for you.
RPLS.com should work for every surveyor, whether you read with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, zoom in on a phone in the truck, or just need a little more contrast. We’re not all the way there yet, but we’re working on it, and we want to hear from you when something gets in your way.
Our goal
We’re working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make websites usable for people with a wide range of abilities.
Current status: partially conformant. Much of RPLS.com meets the guidelines, but some parts don’t yet.
What we’re doing
- Building new pages with accessibility in mind: clear heading structure, descriptive links, labeled form fields, and text alternatives for images we add.
- Checking color contrast and keyboard navigation as we redesign each section of the site.
- Fixing problems as we find them, starting with the pages surveyors use most: the forums, Find a Surveyor, membership, and account pages.
- Reviewing this statement whenever the site changes significantly, and at least once a year.
Where we know we fall short
RPLS.com carries 30 years of community history, and not all of it was built with today’s standards in mind. Known gaps include:
- Member-posted content. Images, attachments, and scanned documents shared in the forums over the years often don’t have text descriptions.
- Older content. Some older pages, posts, and PDFs haven’t been updated to current standards.
- Third-party content. Advertisements, embedded videos, and tools from other providers aren’t fully under our control. We encourage our partners to make their content accessible.
- Complex interactive features. Some forum and account tools may not work smoothly with every screen reader or with a keyboard alone.
If any of these gets in your way, tell us. We’ll help you get the information another way while we work on a fix.

Technical details
RPLS.com is built on WordPress and relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA to work with assistive technologies. The site is designed for current versions of major browsers on desktop and mobile.
