Middle daughter used to have a Honda SUV that was school bus orange.  Even she referred to it as her own little short bus, because she is SPECIAL.  It's a middle child thing, I'm told.

How many times have you heard that from one of your parents when a youngster? (substitute car for bus)  

Shut up and sit back down.  It worked on me and it worked on my kids.  The tone of voice was adequate to get things quiet again.

My old man had a rubber arm, or so it seemed at the time, he could smack me while driving when I was in the back seat on the passanger side.
