What is it
Found this while looking for the Northwest corner of a parcel. Was buried about 6″ below a square piece of steel tube. I believe it is a magnet of some kind but have never seen one before. Any thoughts?

Looks like a test gauge we used to use when running cnc machines to check bore diameters.

That makes sense to me. It looks like it was custom-made to check a hole spec’d to be no smaller than 0.167 and no larger than 0.171, in whatever units those are (inches would be my guess).
