Topcon GPT-3005W Question
I just received a GPT-3005W that I ordered and it makes a ??clicking? sound for a minute or so after you turn it on. I did some searching and someone said it??s part of the EDM routine when you first cut on the instrument. Is this correct? I went into the F2 settings on startup and it had the EDM off time set at 1 minute. Is there any setting that turns that clicking off? Does anyone have this same unit that has knowledge of this? Thank you

Is it clicking, like, for an actual 60 seconds on startup? A lot of units click a few times when booted up, but I personally have never had one that clicked that many times for that long unless I was doing a specialized reading on a point. Never, again just personally, that long on bootup. My Topcon total station use is quite limited, though (I have only used 2 or 3 models for short periods of time).
Leegreen would be a great person to chime in on this. There’s another “Topcon guy” here, but his name escapes me at the moment.
You’ll get used to it. Bought one new about 15 years ago and thought it was broken when I first fired it up.
