Topcon and SurvCE 2.5
I have been having some real troubles with the communications between my Topcon 815A Robot and my SurvCE 2.5 on my Carlson Surveyor+. I mean this thing had become VERY balky and would go all spastic at the most random of times and require a hard reset that would take 3~5 minutes to get back up and running… Well today, I could NOT get it to hard reset and stop a stream of data (said it was still measuring after 3 hard boots) and had to call Hayes. I told them my version (2.5) and they suggested that I call Carlson. I got home, called Carlson and verified that there has been some communication problems with the Topcons (it sounded like all of them) and the SurvCE 2.5.
So if YOU are having problems with this setup, you might call them and get them to DOWNGRADE the version you are working with (Version 2.09) and hopefully that will get you back on a productive track.
It has been VERY FRUSTRATING for some time!! :pissed: But I had chalked much of it up to newbie quirks that I had not figgered out yet… but that wasn’t entirely the case.
