TBC W/ HCE
Posted by ken on October 18, 2013 at 8:58 pmHi y’all. Anyone have any write up or how to for a topo collected in NAD27 us feet coords, that now has to be transformed to UTM meters? Can this be done easily in TBC?

Yes, under project/project settings/units/distance you can toggle your data to meters from feet, then you should have NAD27 UTM Zone? in meters instead of feet. If you have NAD27 in some other projection based on 27 then go into coordinate system and change the projection to UTM. If you want NAD83 UTM then be sure to pick that. I would make a copy of the job first before messing with it.

Also, I would add using NADCON or Corpscon to transform a few by hand and verify the results of the TBC. At least you’ll know if you did it right or not.

Another way to do it is to set up a TBC job with the projection parameters that you want; then from your topo job export a file of the points in LAT, LONG height format, then import that file into the new blank TBC job.
This will project coordinates to the system that you want, UTM meters if the job was set-up as UTM meters.
