Star*net project file question
I’ve been struggling with the 10 station limitation in the demo version of Star*net. I’m learning a lot about how to effectively use the program, but the workaround I’ve been using to analyze my data is really getting in the way of learning how to “do it properly” with larger networks (I’m adjusting a portion of the network by turning on the DAT files, then holding those adjusted points; adding more; adjusting those, etc. It’s becoming a mess that I can’t keep track of. Plus, I just don’t think the results would be the same as if I adjusted all the observations at once.
So the question is: Does anyone know if a project with more than 10 stations, is adjusted in the full version and saved, then brought into the demo version, will the adjustments, residual data etc. all be there, with the sole limitation that it can not be re-adjusted. It seems to be that way with projects I’ve saved.
If so I might be able to send one of the good folks here my project; ask them to run it, and email it back to me to study.

The resultant files that you are viewing in the StarNet (listing report, coordinate file) are just text files that you can open in notepad. I think you could even open the project file and look at the data and results through the StarNet window.

They may be text files, but they’re not in the project file. That seems to contain all the project settings and references to other files, but not the output.
This might be easy to test if you or someone had a file with more than 10 stations that has been adjusted, that you could send me. I’d open it and see if all the adjusted coordinate data is still there. -

When I open the file in Star*net, it reports “no listings; nothing has been run”. But when I use explorer to look at the directory where I put the files, they’re all there, including an xxxlst.txt file that is actually the adjusted coordinates/angles for the project, the last time it was run (just as you suggested). This looks like it will work.I’ll go to work on going back to the beginning, with all my raw data; get it all into one project (although it might have multiple .dat files), and run Blunder Detect on one or two .dat files at a time, to make sure the whole thing will run, then ask someone (you?) to just run it and email back.
Now, if my data could only look a fraction as good as Yswami’s network. Argh! Thanks very much for your help.

Withe regard to the the xxx.lst.txt file. Once I’m satisfied with an adjustment I go into the data directory and append .txt to the .lst file, so that the .lst.txt file doesn’t get overwritten if I run the adjustment again. So that is what that is.
Take heart. Yswami ran his traverse twice. The first one was not so good as the second.
