During my short time at AHTD, I had the privilege of working with Mr. West and remember him serving as ASPS President.

So sad to hear I always enjoyed listening to Mr. West. The Arkansas Surveying family just lost a good one.

Steve,
Thank you for putting the long hours in for this fine memorial to George. I look forward to the updating of the horizontal values to include the hundreds of hours of GPS observations on this point.http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/OPUS/getDatasheet.jsp?PID=BBFD11

Looking forward to visiting George West March 25, 2017…National Surveyors Week, NGS GPS on Bench Mark Day, and the Pantopragmatic Arkansas Land Surveyors (PALS) Picnic…I’ll bet Arkansas has more GPS observations for the FORTH YEAR in a row…
-
Dan, Arkansas will probably finish second. Florida has a big GPS project underway and they have submitted over 100 shares between NGS and the contractors. Arkansas will probably finish second and Missouri should be third.

Not to sully a man’s remembrance, but this reminds of when they set marks on the campus of ETSU. They set one in turn 3 of the running track named Earnhardt. There was another one set they named Renob. Reverse the spelling on that one.

George was very generous with his time, and desire to see “things done right”
