Gene, No I don??t. I would love to read more on it. I will check the link provided above on tetonic linkage. My mentions were based on lively discussions I recall having in my historical geology course. These were discussions on theories, some of them were a little out there.
Yeah, I learned to be careful about accepting “new” ideas too quickly. Plate tectonics was new enough that there were several ideas that were in vogue for short periods, but didn’t hold up. My geology training taught me the value of multiple working hypotheses and not locking myself into a single idea of how things happened. Worst of all was knowing that a hypothesis was correct and avoiding the scientific method altogether (i.e. the infamous ruling hypothesis).
