I don't like excuses; blaming others for our problems is running a close second.
I recently submitted an Elevation Certificate, to the county, so that a client could get approval to occupy a barn on her property. It came back with 2 comments:
- I didn't check the box that said the LAT/LON was provided by a licensed surveyor
- I labeled 2 of the pictures East, when one was West.

I struggled with the photos; in frustration, I missed these 2 little details(my excuse). Why isn't the form easier to navigate? (blaming others)
My solution is to recognize what these frustrations lead to, and pay closer attention to details in these trying times.

I'm getting sick and tired of excuses and blaming others; when we desperately need solutions...
We all make mistake; if we're not, we're not doing anything. If your solution doesn't work, try something else. If you give up, you lose.
Nobody's perfect, but we need to learn from our mistakes. If we keep making the same mistakes, over and over and over again; always making excuses and blaming everyone else, but ourselves; we'll never find solutions.

One thing I stress to those whose surveys I end up reviewing is, "We all make mistakes." because I know I make mistakes, myself.?ÿ If it can possibly happen, it will happen.?ÿ The most common error of all is the case of the description of the tract not agreeing with the labeling of the tract.?ÿ Had one of those this week.?ÿ Six of the eight sides were in perfect agreement.?ÿ Something happened at a bend that created two calls in the description not matching the labeling on the drawing.?ÿ I always make a phone call on this kind of error in hopes it will prevent the surveyor from having already sent out his final product to the client ahead of my review of the document to be recorded.?ÿ Sometimes I am too late.

A hundredth of a second is pretty tight (a little over a foot); I was told that it needed to be at the center of the front of the structure. I suppose you could note that in the comments provided in section D.
We all make mistakes but all don??t call mistakes an error. ?ÿPet peeve of mine.
@holy-cow I've found that having Word read the description aloud as I follow along on the exhibit helps catch those mistakes.
The solution to many problems is often just a funky tune.

@holy-cow Nice things is that her hourly compensation package costs me next to nothing and she does not take up much office space.
