Pile Driving Accident
For those of you involved in supervising pile driving operations or even staking pile locations…be careful out there.

In the past, I have been responsible for layout and inspection of pile driving operations.
It can be a stressful job. I try to stay as far away as I possibly can, while still being able to monitor the depth marks. However when things fall off a crane, they can bounce outwards further than you think. The driving operation really beats the heck out of the equipment and I suspect that in this situation, something failed. -

We use Micarta/Conbest cushion on the hammer with nothing in the cap and have had very good results. Not so much with plywood.

We had one last week in NOLA. They are dangerous just sitting on a truck.
