Wow,
I clicked on the second link, and searched for a land surveyor, and my company name showed up. It has a link to my website.
I have no idea who they are.

odd. radians? the text describes plss and the photo is a poket tape across a rr gage? electromagnetic distance measurement has to be my favorite, though. quite a find.

Eddie-
FYI
Look to this PPT
[PPT]
Electronic Distance Measurement – PowerPoint Presentation
File Format: Microsoft Powerpoint – View as HTML
Electronic Distance Measurement. – Physics and Application to Structural Engineering Research –. J. M. Lynch. CEE 398 KUC. Evolution of EDM Instruments …

weird article that compares Land Surveys and Appraisals? Two things that are not related. The whole article feels like the sentence, “If you can’t afford a Cadillac then you can buy a hamburger.”
-
Dave-
If you look to the RICS (rics.org) here:http://www.rics.org/professionalgroups you will see additional professional groups that include ‘surveying for valuation’.
But, don’t tell the Hon Gent. from Green Bay.
He would be expecting a fleet of corgis attached to HRM as it is a “Brit” thingie 😉

cannot get to the ppt. only thing is an edm is electro-optical from the infrared beam, not electromagnetic
are we both thinking the same thing?

Eddie-
If you go to Google and put in under a “search”
Electronic Distance Measurement. – Physics and Application to Structural Engineering Research –. J. M. Lynch. CEE
You will get a thingie to click on for the PPT presentation.

I really like that.

found it, thanks. any chance the older edm’s (microwave) are electromagnetic? i’m just not convinced yet. seems the newer (infrared) are electro-optical
