Google Earth problems?
I am having problems with Google Earth this past week. I cannot get it to zoom in at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that doesn’t help. I am using the latest version of Earth Pro, as far as I know nothing has changed on my PC. When it starts it is quite jerky when zooming, whereas it used to be smooth. I checked my internet connection using speedtest.net, getting 75Mb up/down.
Anyone else having problems? Any suggestions as to what I can do to “fix” it? I tried to sign up for a pro subscription, as I have no problem paying for something useful that I use frequently. But it just takes me to a GE download page that says to use GEPFREE for a password.

Interesting. I will break out my laptop and see how it behaves. Must be an issue on my desktop.

I got it to work normally again by clearing the cache. Even though I uninstalled it and reinstalled the program, I guess something was in the cache. I had to re-associate .kml with GE, otherwise I was getting an access denied message when I clicked on a file. But, no matter what I do I cannot get .kmz to associate, it always opens acrobat pro (??). I have tried to re-associate it, it doesn’t change. Sounds like something in the registry is messed up. If I run GE, then open a kmz, it works fine.

I have had no issues with Google Earth lately, I use it daily. As a side note, the “Earth Pro” layers (the ones that show demographics, parcel data, and traffic counts) will be going away by the end of the month.

Wondering why those pro layers are going away. It is unfortunate because it was a convenient tool.

I suspect the new Acrobat Reader could be the culprit of your problems.
