What’s with the hoodie? Please tell me it’s cold down there and make me feel better.

Running barefoot while wearing a hoodie…I’m putting in for an “Honorary Okie” card to be awarded to that young’n. 😉

Oldest File and Mrs. File on horseback.
When Oldest asked his mother what she wanted for Christmas- She told him a ride on the beach when we came to visit.
He did good and spoiled her, but the Closest vendor was in Port St Joe. 3 hrs from P’cola.
Adopted and I went beach combing while they were riding. which was a lot more interesting than on the big public beaches on Santa Rosa island.
18″ jelly fish- bigger- whole seashells.
He was bare foot because on the way to the beach he’d ran off the path into the “quicksand”- his term – a combination of saturated mud and sand from the recent rain. It sucked the shoe off his foot and I had to try to get out to where he had been and retrieve it from the now-backfilled foot print. I had him walking bare foot in the sand until I could get the shoe cleaned out. 8 y.o. boy on the beach means feet in the water…. period…. oakie or not.
It’s been a bit cool here yesterday the high was 53^ but the sun was out and there was no snow in sight. Mrs. file Went to TJ maxx and got everyone hoodies because it’s been cold watching the granddaughter’s softball. we were a bit over optimistic on the temp.s when we left all of our jackets at home. It’s 63 here today- and steadily warming.

An interesting part of the trip was driving thru the Panama City- Mexico Beach areas Post-Michael . I??ve never seen natural destruction in urban/suburban areas of this magnitude- even after 5 plus months of re-construction and cleanup. Oldest was over here on several trips for cleanup support and was trying to describe it immediately after the storm.
Tyndall AFB is still a shambles- https://www.stripes.com/news/us/tyndall-afb-leveled-by-hurricane-michael-as-most-other-installations-avoid-major-damage-1.551072
