AutoCAD 2017 and higher has PDFIMPORT

I just tried it on Civil3D 2020. It doesn’t work on scanned images, only on a pdf that has layers and linework, presumably the ones that AutoCAD creates. I don’t see much value in this feature at this time but maybe I am missing something….

Yes I am at a last resort kind of situation. The designer is not returning my calls or emails requesting control and CAD files. He is a Surveyor/Engineer in the same area. Not sure what his deal is. Am told he is moody.

I thought “Nm” in your original post meant “Never mind”, so I didn’t respond.
But I have this:
https://anydwg.com/pdf-to-dwg.html
which gives you 15 (I think) free goes if you download it.
Alternatively send the dwg to me and I can try it.
Definitely a last resort thing but it can be useful.
They also have a program that lets you open dwg’s that were created in a newer version than the CAD you have and then save it to your version – like Autodesk’s own Truview but a much smaller program that doesn’t take over your computer

A solution to that may be in here:

A program we use when doing preliminary cut/fill estimates for contractors is this:
Works great for those old scanned PDF’s from the 80/90’s when they want a ballpark figure on something.
