Best way to turn Access off after finish survey
My question is about the time between jobs NOT at the end of the day. The Access takes some time to load, I was wondering what’s the fastest way to turn the TSC5 off, then use is at the next job.

I’ve yet to use a 5 but doesn’t it have a sleep mode like the other DCs? Try pushing the power button briefly. Keyword briefly because a long press might power it off completely.

It shouldn’t take long at all, maybe 5-10 seconds at most. If it’s taking longer than that, I’d be talking with my dealer.
If I’m jumping in the truck for more than 10 minutes, I’m ending the survey and closing down Access.
In any case, if I finish a job and am going to the next one, I’m going to close out my survey and push the current job up to the cloud beforehand.

It takes 50 seconds from turning on to see the Access logo, then 10 seconds to open a project. I was hoping to get a step by step (key stokes) on how to close the job and on to the next one and when you are at the next job, just wake the TSC5 and choose the project.
I have the TDC600, 4 seconds to turn it on and a few more to pick the location of the job you want then open it.
How much space is your job using?
I just timed it. It takes 50 seconds from turning on to see the Access logo, then 10 seconds to open a project.
That’s not even close to normal. Probably an OS issue, or another program is running in the background and eating up available memory.
Why not discuss this with your dealer, and have them open a tech support ticket with Trimble if they can’t offer a solution?

You could try resetting the controller…
Backup your Trimble Data directory to a USB drive
Factory Reset the device
Reinstall Access
Restore your System Files and Geodetic Data directories.
Restore only those projects you really need.
