Any North Dakota Surveyors?
Posted by andy-nold on April 20, 2012 at 8:03 pmI just found out that my application for licensure by comity was approved at the last board meeting. I will be in Bismarck in the next two months to sit for the state-specific portion of the exam. Any ND surveyors on here?
Looking forward to it. Hopefully the spring melt will be underway and I won’t have to send off for beaver castor impregnated emu fur lined survey quality kilt.

Andy, the pickens are so slim around here I’m thinking about heading that way. Ok, I could likely make it on 20-30K per month/ plus per diem. Get me outta hock in short order.
But jeez oh pete, I like women, dancing, having fun. And from what I here those pickens are slimmmer than ….. fill in your own blank…. and it ain’t a check I want to write
Andy-
We’re sold right out of the kilts.
Have you checked with Kent’s Moose Jaw Office ?
YOS
TNAI
Had a project up there from October to January last year and will be back this year again at that same time. All I can say is that working in -20 to -30 with 20mph wind in not fun.
I was registered there for some years.
Never did any work in North Dakota.
In fact, I have never even been to North Dakota!
Can’t remember if I ever got a stamp for that one or not.A pipeliner I knew had a take home exam for ND. I know that
several BOR offices will monitor the out-of-state specific exam.
Security has tightened and you would probably have to take the
monitored exam on the same day as ND’s schedule.I just recently received my ND LSIT, and will be applying to take the PLS exam soon. They deferred my previous application stating lack experience. They seem to offering a lot of money for a section breakdown and one footprint in the oil fields, but I wouldn’t want to do it long term. And yes the winters with the wind can be brutal.
Well, theoretically I would not be located in ND. Just occasional trips to get projects started and to check on local field crew from time to time.
I told my boss I was allergic to North Dakota, but he doesn’t believe me.
It will be my first PLSS state, so I am going to have to buy one of those cookbooks soon. Any other recommended study material recommendations appreciated. I have been on the ND surveying society’s website and downloaded some court cases and what not from them.
I’ve got some links on my web page ( 888.SURPASS.com )
Look towards the bottom of the listing for a prefix of USPLSS
And, I always appreciate a note when you encounter a faulty link.
Thanks for your help!
